          There are four steps in creating an IoT project with IC2Cloud platform. All of them are optional. You might have fully automated system where you don't want any control, as a result an APP will not be required. You might have just a monitoring system, hence a cloud device is not necessary.

1. Create Hardware

        If you want to interact with the world, measure  temperature, humidity, pressure, you need some electronic devices. You can use any platform you like to create them.  The API we provide to connect the hardware is very simple to implement. We have projects and tips how to create hardware. We focused mostly on using Arduino. But we also encourage you to use Raspberry Pi and mbed because all these are open platform, cost effective for experimentation and very easy to program.

2. Create Cloud Device

        Once you have the hardware, you need to create the rules that will control the hardware. For this purpose we provide the Device Builder tool. Once you have the rules defined you can deploy them in the Device Cloud. This will be the brain of your IoT system, making decisions and taking actions.

3. Create Mobile App

        Ultimately you want to have control of your system. You can use any platform you want for this purpose.  We support extensively MIT App Inventor. We provide App Inventor "code" for all our projects and also a set of sample and tips. The plan for the future is to expand App Inventor to generate web apps and iOS apps.

4. Test and Run

        While you create your system we help you test it. We provide the Signal Manager as a simple tool that allows you to peek and change the signals handled in the Wiring Cloud. We provide a browser version and an Android version as well.
