String

 

        String. It can be set with any string value.

 

Concatenate

 

        Concatenate strings. You can concatenate multiple strings. Use the start icon to extend the number of strings you can append with the statement. The picture below shows you how you can add inputs to support more or less strings.

 

Append

 

        Append. Append a string to a variable. The block does not return a value. The variable is updated with it's value and with the string appended at the end of its value.

 

Length

 

        Return the length of a string.

 

Is Empty

 

        Check if a string is empty. Return TRUE if the string is empty or null. Otherwise return FALSE.

 

Find

 

        Return the position of the second string in the first string. If the string is not found then -1 is returned.

 

Variations

          Find the first occurrence of the string.
          Find the last occurrence of the string.
 

Get letter

 

        Extract a letter from a string.

 

Variations

          Extract the letter from certain position in the string counting from the beginning of the string.
          Extract the letter from a certain position in the string counting from the end of the string.
          Extract the first letter in the string.
          Extract the last letter in the string.
          Extract a random letter from the string.
 

Substring

 

        Extract a substring from a string.

 

Variations

          Extract a substring from two positions indicated from the beginning of the string.
          Extract a substring from two positions. The start position is indicated from the end of the string and the end position is indicated from the beginning of the string.
          Extract a substring from the start of the string to a position indicated from the beginning of the string.
          Extract a substring from two positions. The start position is indicated from the beginning of the string and the end position is indicated from the end of the string.
          Extract a substring from two positions. Both positions are indicated from the end of the string.
          Extract a substring from the start of the string to a position indicated from the end of the string.
          Extract a substring from two positions. The start position is indicated from the beginning of the string and the end position is at the end of the string.
          Extract a substring from two positions. The start position is indicated from the end of the string and the end position is at the end of the string.
          Copy the entire string. This is not a useful case. It can be created by combining the options to select start position and end position.
 

Change Case

 

        Return a copy of a string with the case changed to upper case, lower case or title case.

 

Variations

          Return an upper case copy of a string.
          Return a lower case copy of a string.
          Return a title case copy of a string.
 

Trim

 

        Trim a string.

 

Variations

          Trim a string on both sides.
          Trim a string on the left side.
          Trim a string from the right side.
